To the capital! was a mission in Ōkami, taking place in Ryoshima Coast. After clearing the City Checkpoint area, in the City Checkpoint mission of the same name, Amaterasu and Issun arrived at Ryoshima Coast, only to discover it nearly completely covered with a large cursed zone.

Walkthrough

The cursed zone blocks off most of the area, so simply follow the path on the right until you run into a headless guardian, a new enemy type that can be considered a stronger variant of the red imp. Defeat it and go left at the fork, at the end of which you must use Cherry Bomb to open the wall and enter a large cavern. In here you can use Waterspout to fill the red barrel, after which you can use that water to fill the empty pond on the higher plateau. Repeat this twice more on the third and fourth ponds, after which the Guardian Sapling at the top will grow to its full height, allowing you to use Bloom and restore it completely.

Now is a good time to explore the coast entirely, as you will have gotten access to a new merchant and a large number of animals to feed, along with the usual other collectibles. New are giant seashells, which function as treasure chests, and are located primarily along the beach. Power Slash those that are underwater, and use Water Lily and Galestorm to propel yourself across the sea to reach the series of small mini islands visible nearby, as those also feature many treasures. Most notably will be the Sunken Ship, which you cannot enter yet, and the dōjō at the larger island.

Onigiri-Sensei will have several new dōjō techniques, with Holy Eagle and Digging Champ being the most immediately useful. The former lets you double jump, with which you can reach new areas, and the latter lets you dig through hard rock surfaces. You can and should revisit older areas to put your new power to use, with the first opportunity being close to the Guardian Sapling path. Here you can find a small alcove with a rock surface, which when dug through leads to a cavern with a bandit spider for the first "Down the spider hole" side mission. Afterwards you can access the first of the devil gate trial caves, for which you probably will want to be equipped with the remainder of Onigiri's techniques, such as Wailing Mirror, 5 Winds, 3 Shears, and Spirit Armageddon. You can also purchase Golden Fury and Brown Rage, but might want to keep any leftover Yen for Sei'an City.

Lastly before finishing the area and heading over to the city, help the Animal lover in the minor side mission "Find the Animal Lover's lost rabbit". Afterwards you can climb the pier, where a lone ubume will ambush you. This enemy uses a large parasol to block your attacks, but a well-timed Galestorm will blow it away, and leave it wide open for a counter-assault. Afterwards finish off any nearby devil gates and proceed into Sei'an City to continue with "Capital Under Misty Siege".
