Wanted: Prayer Slips and Fox Rods are missions in Ōkami, taking place in the Aristocratic Quarter in Sei'an City, and the Sunken Ship off Ryoshima Coast, respectively. Amaterasu and Issun ran into Waka, who gave them another cryptic message, and met with Rao, who told them there was nothing she could do without her Prayer Slips. Upon finding and returning them to her she proclaimed her thanks, and desired to join forces, saying that there was a treasure being transported by ship, but that it was lost as the Water Dragon sunk the ship. Rao said that with the Fox Rods she could defeat any evil, leading to Amaterasu agreeing to helping her out.

Walkthrough

After talking with Rao, go through the door behind her and spend some time exploring what little you can in this quarter of the city, the main thing to do is pay Komuso another visit for the final part of his "Eliminate the foul beasts" side mission. There are a few items around, but the important one will be the Prayer Slips in front of a hole leaking a sickly green fog, which in itself is located on the east side of the city section. Take the slips and return them to Rao, then offer your help when asked. Afterwards exit the city and return to the coast, to the Moon Turret (a wooden platform nearby the house and graveyard).

Climb the turret using the Holy Eagle double jump move, and then use the Celestial Brush to draw a moon in the sky, causing the Lunar Lagoon's water to recede. With the water gone you can dig up a small handful of treasures hidden underneath the sea floor, after which you will have to enter the ship itself. After a cutscene Rao will mount you, allowing you to use your brush and her prayer slips in a combo. Use one of them to remove the curse on the door, and head into the ship's depths.

Use Rao's prayer slips to deal with the ghost enemies, then head up the stairs and loot the treasure chests in the room. One of them will be a mimic, which you can slay using the prayer slips. Continue through the only available doorway, ignoring the ghostly head of the Spider Queen, and meanwhile dodging the bamboo spears. In the next room you will have to fight against Jiro and Saburo, respectively green and red, a pair of demon hermit crabs. Jiro will shoot spiked spheres, which you can cut down with Power Slash, whereas Saburo will engage in a lunging spinning attack.

Their shell's armor will deflect any attacks, so use Cherry Bombs or Rao's prayer slips to destroy it, and then use any preferred techniques and attacks to take them down. There's a golden gate in the next corridor, along with another cursed door. After another cutscene you will have to use the Sunrise technique to cause the ship to flood again, and then return to the previous room, for a fight against Ichiro. Ichiro will swim around the area, either throwing spiked spheres at you, or performing a belly flop on your position.

As with the crabs Ichiro is heavily armored, forcing you to repeatedly use Rao's slips to remove it. You can use either the barrels, the bone pile, or Water Lily as surface, but note that Ichiro can swim past the bones and temporarily remove them. On the other hand, if you can get it to belly flop on the bones it will be temporarily stunned and very vulnerable, although an aerial Power Slash will do the same. Regardless, keep hitting it with the slips or Cherry Bombs until the armor is gone, and then use more ranged attacks (the Rosary weapons also allow for long distance attacks) until it is defeated.

From here, return to the large room at the start and use the wooden barrel to climb the wooden wall with another golden gate. Ignore the cannon and head through the next doorway, dealing with the ghosts and grabbing any nearby loot. The next room is entirely flooded, and massive hands will continuously harass you. Dodge them and make your way to the wooden ramp and walkway, where you can use Power Slash to cut down a barrel hanging from a rope. After it falls, stand on-top of it and 'walk' it to the other side, into the two chains in which it will slot in on its own. Afterwards, use the wooden walkway, dodging more of the hands as they appear, all the way to the back of the room, where another corridor will lead to the room with the hole in the ceiling.

Use another Moon brushstroke to return the night, casting away the flood. The extra barrel will balance out the other one, serving as a platform to return to the corridor and the previous area. On the floor here are two spiked barrels, which you can roll across the seaweed face here. Enough damage will kill it, rewarding you with a large amount of 50 Praise. Return to the cannon and load it with a Cherry Bomb, then grab the free Sun Fragment from the top chamber. Slash the cannon to lower it, then load it again to access the middle room, finally lower it enough to blast open the lowest room. Take the exorcising arrow inside and use it to purge the nearby lockjaw.

Head up the stairs here to the treasure chamber, dealing with another cursed door. Ignore the giant Orochi skull and instead open the chests, two of which will be monsters. The sole reward will be the Lucky Mallet, with the Fox Rods nowhere to be seen. Afterwards you will automatically exit the ship, and then be forced to flee (without Rao) as the Water Dragon chases you. Using lily pads, Galestorm, and lots of double jumping you can safely make it back ashore, although if you fail you end up there regardless. The plot directly continues with the next mission; "A tiny problem".
